In the IP Video, Video Compression and Trasmission module, we looked at how IP VSS video signals are managed and transmitted over networks used for security and life safety systems.

In this module, we will be taking a close look at the new generation of IP Cameras which make up the backbone of a Video Surveillance System.

After completing this module, you should be able to:

Make logical decisions on camera selection based on the environment and security requirements.
Evaluate the various camera types and understand the advantages and limitations of each.
Use camera intelligence features to maximize resources through automation and analytics.
Understand basic functions and strategies used for detection of people, objects and motion.
